Aluma Skin Tightening

What is Aluma Skin Tightening?
Aluma is an innovative treatment used for reducing wrinkles and tightening skin. This new technology combines a vacuum and electrothermal stimulation to promote collagen contraction, leading to tighter skin.

How does the treatment work?
As the handheld device is passed over targeted areas of the face, the vacuum suctions a small portion of skin, and electrodes pass radio frequency energy through the epidermis, into the collagen. This heats the collagen and causes it to tighten and regenerate. The results are smoother, tighter skin and a reduction in fine lines with minimal pain.

Is Aluma safe?
Aluma is safe and has very few side effects. Side effects are temporary, and may include skin sensitivity (warming or stinging on treated areas), bruising, and changes in skin color, but these symptoms quickly subside.

Will there be any downtime?
No, you may immediately return to your normal routine and even apply makeup.

What are the benefits of Aluma Skin Tightening?
Unlike having a face lift, laser skin tightening requires no recovery and does not stretch the skin – it causes skin to tighten on its own. There is no downtime and little chance of side effects involved with skin tightening.

How long does an Aluma Skin Tightening treatment last?
An Aluma Skin Tightening treatment usually takes no longer than 30 minutes.

How does the treatment feel?
Aluma Skin Tightening is virtually painless.

How long do results last?
Typical laser skin tightening results are visible for up to two years, and many patients find that they can extend their optimal results with a few touch-up treatments. After roughly two years, another series of treatments may be necessary to promote the growth of new collagen, which will be reabsorbed into the body over time.

Who are candidates for Aluma Skin Tightening?
Candidates for Aluma Skin Tightening are typically between the ages of thirty and sixty-five and interested in improving the appearance of their face. Many candidates are seeking to repair loose facial skin and to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Laser skin tightening is an effective, minimally invasive option for people of all skin types and skin tones.

Who should avoid Aluma Skin Tightening?
Patients prone to herpes breakouts or people who have skin cancers should consult their doctors about additional medical considerations. Pregnant women should not receive laser skin tightening treatments. Patients who scar easily and develop keloids, and people using acne medications should discuss the chance of adverse reactions to skin tightening with their doctor prior to the procedure.

What are the alternative treatments?
The only alternative to skin tightening procedures is a traditional, surgical face-lift. Although surgery can provide instant results, the complications and side-effects can make such a procedure risky in comparison to a non-invasive skin tightening procedure.

How many treatments are required?
Although some improvement will be seen within a month to a few months, the skin should continue to improve for several months after treatment as new collagen is generated. For best results, a series of 4-6 treatments is recommended.
